Mr. Longbons focuses his practice on energy and natural resource law. Having begun his career with a Texas based petroleum company, Mr. Longbons later joined Lewis Glasser Casey & Rollins, a West Virginia based law firm, and has 7 years’ experience in energy and natural resource law with a primary focus in mineral title examination. For three years Mr. Longbons coordinated multiple mineral and leasehold acquisitions and/or divestitures in Texas, Louisiana, Colorado and Pennsylvania. During this time, he also had the opportunity to collaborate on one of the largest mineral acquisitions in West Virginia history. Subsequently, Mr. Longbons rendered title opinions for complex mineral title examinations in the Marcellus Field (West Virginia and Pennsylvania) and in the Utica Field (Ohio). He also has experience in examining coal title in West Virginia, and he was a major contributor for the West Virginia chapters of Oil and Gas Law, a Nationwide Comparison of Laws on Leasing, Exploration and Production (2nd Edition), Published by the American Association of Professional Landmen. For the last year, Mr. Longbons has worked with Lear & Lear on a project in the Bakken formation in North Dakota, wherein he has devoted his time to mineral title examinations and collaborating on concise title recommendations.
