Mitch represents natural resource and renewable energy development clients throughout the United States, assisting them as they navigate administrative, regulatory and litigation issues.  Mitch focuses on natural resource and renewable energy development. He represents oil and gas, mining, and renewable energy clients to acquire, develop, operate, and finance mid-scale and large-scale energy projects.

               

Mitch regularly appears before the Utah Board of Oil, Gas and Mining and assists clients with preparing, presenting, and defending regulatory applications for well spacing, density, compulsory pooling, well siting exemptions, underground injection control, and flaring and bonding allowances, including appealing adverse decisions of the Board.  Mitch has extensive experience litigating matters in state and federal court and before the Interior Board of Land Appeals, including successfully defending against the second largest civil penalty issued by the Office of Natural Resources Revenue.

Mitch also represents various national companies in renewable energy development, including assisting with all aspects of project completion from origination (surface and mineral leasing, wind and solar leasing, land transactions, federal, state, and local permitting) through financing (due diligence and tax equity financing diligence).
